The Container and Cargo Services Workbench is a new feature in Origin TMS designed specifically for container transport operators managing a high volume of container service and quarantine requirements—like fumigation, inspections, washing, and other compliance-related tasks.
It’s a centralised workspace where teams can view, track, and manage all service jobs applied to containers and cargo. Whether it’s a single job, batch updates or a complex set of services across hundreds of containers, the workbench provides clarity and control at every step. Your customers can also view services progress via EDI integration or within the Origin Portal.
See all container service jobs in a centralised workspace
In container logistics, even a single missed step — like forgetting a required service or not realising it’s incomplete — can delay delivery, breach compliance, and damage customer trust. Services are often booked with third parties, tracked outside the system, or handled informally across teams which often results in information being miscommunicated, duplicated, or simply forgotten.
The Services Workbench solves this by giving everyone a shared source of truth, from service administrators and quarantine coordinators to customer service reps.
It helps teams:
For operations with tight delivery windows or high service volumes, it’s a simple way to avoid costly slip-ups and keep everything moving.
Update service history individually or in bulk
Whenever a service is applied to a container or cargo item, a job is created and tracked in the Workbench. From there, users can move it through key stages, from planning and booking right through to completion and release - either one by one or in bulk.
Update service status of containers
If a container still has a required service outstanding, the system prevents it from being delivered or unpacked until it's officially cleared. That means no accidental yard movements or missed quarantine inspections.
It also supports:
This feature is available to all Origin TMS customers managing container or cargo servicing workflows. It’s especially valuable for:
The Container and Cargo Services Workbench is another step toward a more connected, efficient, and visible supply chain. If you’re managing services without a clear system, this is the visibility layer you’ve been missing.
